Our goal is to empower parents and children with behavioural issues stemming from attachment disorder/developmental trauma. To gently guide the parents toward a paradigm shift that is more effective in connecting with the child in an empathetic and accepting way. Our work will include families who care for those with disabilities as they can also become stuck in the practical side of daily care and miss connecting with each other in a meaningful way. Families struggle to stay together when pressure is applied, each member is unique and stands alone in a timeline, vulnerable from past experience and ashamed of owning their own story. We aim to provide an environment that gives every member of the family the courage to be vulnerable yet still feel accepted. In helping them to understand no matter how long ago the past can come to the surface under pressure and knowing this will grow self awareness and empower them in moving forward. For the children sometimes the damage done was in the nonverbal stage, they can not recall it never mind understand it. Teaching them that they are accepted in the behaviours they exhibit and creating positive outcomes is the key. By demonstrating this and teaching it to the parents we aim to bring about positive change. We would also like to run workshops to bring professionals to this personal understanding enabling them to work more effectively with families and young people.
